Ingrid Mayes

Originally from Kent, I relocated to Fife in 2007 and now paint full time from my home studio in Dalgety Bay. Generally working in acrylics or oils, my inspiration comes from the many beautiful villages & harbours around the Scottish coast. I spend much of my spare time on the beaches along the Forth, gaining visual inspiration or hunting for driftwood and other treasures that wash up on the sand and rocks. Many of my works are inspired by the fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife, often re-imagined through my own sense of colour and space, preferring to portray my own village scenes rather than be too close to reality.
