Janine Rennie

I’ve been painting for over 40 years and have exhibited my work throughout that time. Along the way, I was honoured to be named North Lanarkshire Artist of the Year, which was a real highlight in my journey as an artist. My work is rooted in a naïve style, and I enjoy working with mixed media to build up texture and tell stories within each piece.

More recently, I’ve been incorporating antique jewellery into my paintings. I love the idea of giving these old, often forgotten objects a new life embedding them into the work so they become part of the story. For me, painting is about nature, expression, and experimentation, and I hope that comes across in the work on display here.
